Gallery of THUM is an art gallery, we are also a Gift & Art Boutique, which is housed inside the Gallery of THUM As an art gallery we sell original art, prints, greeting cards and jewelry both online and in our retail setting in Spokane WA. The greeting cards and prints are primarily from Cecile Charles artworks, but we sell the art of many fine artists including works from Cecile.

The Trendy Handcrafted Urban Marketplace business incubator program for artisans. We are constantly searching the market for new artisans who have great handmade products but little or no representation in downtown Spokane, where our business and consumer interest is centralized. If you are an artisan don’t hesitate to call for an appointment so we can discuss the possibilities of your joining the program.

Originals

Online and in house we sell the originals of many artists and are constantly uploading more artworks.

Greeting Cards

All greeting card styles can be found in the slide viewer or in our store. Our greeting

cards are available in bulk online and individually wrapped in-store.

Giclee Prints

Available in a single matte, sized to fit a 12" by 16" frame. Numbers a62, a73 and a117 are 10"by 16" and numbers a116, a127,  a130 are 12" by 12". All of our Giclee prints are on 100% smooth.

Jewelry

We have several marvelous jewelry artists.  Nienke will be offering small lots of one-of-a-kind pieces of Jewelry. She also works in the lesser metals, stones and beads.

Marti O works in swarovski crystals.

Tim Phillips hand paints necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Overview of Services

The Gallery provides online representation of local Fine Artists. Artists are not required to be house artists for this service. Monthly fees of $25.00 are charged or this service on a yearly contract. This a separate service from full representation.

A selection process for full time artist representation, showcase and short-term shows. Paypal services are included in the monthly fees and we charge commissions on sales.

The Gallery holds artist receptions and is involved with the local First Friday Artwalk, plus other pubic events. The Gallery develops away events and special shows with specific themes.

The Gallery provides wall space and Internet services to house artists
(full service representation), and provide representation to the 3D artists that do not use wall space.

Artist Promotion - We have 22 artists we promote through our retail setting.

A printer used for Giclee Fine Art prints is very different from a desktop inkjet printer, no matter how high quality it may be. Giclee printers use a different technology of inks and more color cartridges to obtain a wider gamut of color and sharper definition of detail. They produce archival prints on artist canvas or fine art papers. Our Fine Art Prints are made from the artists original scans and are printed on the finest archival/acid free art paper available on the market.

Open in 2006 we started small. Inside it was dark and tiny, a bit artsy and funky but we were able to hang about 180 artworks two blocks west of our current location.When the building shut down we moved to the Steam Plant Square into the Seahorn Building at the front on Lincoln Street. Bright and airy, great lighting and lots of space.

Interesting Fact:

Primarily selling Cecile’s art through prints and cards online, in the beginning Gallery of THUM sold art prints and greeting cards online as Ain't That Thum' Thin & Thum' Thin Cards until expanding to the retail location in Spokane, July 7, 2006 and going through restructuring and a name change. The current location acts as a Retail Gallery and Office. Gallery of THUM promotes Cecile’s artwork and showcases twenty two local and regional artists in all the mediums. The Gallery is involved with dozens of businesses both to promote the artists of the Gallery, and to be a part of bringing all of Spokane’s artists to the attention of art collectors across the United States.

Our goals in our greeting card division are to compete in the printed card category, and then move into direct competition with 123greetingcards.com, bluemountain.com, americangreetings.com and any of the larger greeting card companies.
